VIDEO: ADVICE FROM A MEDIA EXPERT
We met Chris Dannen last week while doing a photo shoot for a mutual friend, James Whitworth. He and I spoke briefly and agreed to keep in touch. Fortuitously, some forgotten equipment provided an excuse for me and Paul to return to Williamsburg yesterday evening, which prompted the conversation captured above.
Chris, a journalist for Fast Company, advisor to many companies regarding digital strategy and developer of his own App ‘Press’, gave us some pointers on how to optimize our site and tumblr, increase traffic, drive home our minimum viable product, and even gave us some food for thought on things we should be doing to be ahead of the curve 2-3 years from now. He’s a brilliant guy with a great sense of humor.
In the video, I compared him to Peter Thiel. I’ve watched several of Peter’s talks on the web, and I had the same feeling watching Chris’ brain work while he articulated abstract thoughts. I’m looking forward to getting to know him even better and his ongoing involvement with Curators. Collaborating with individuals like him is what we are all about. He is the ‘Dopeness’.
